Fiberon PET-CF17 is a carbon fiber reinforced PET (polyethylene terephthalate) filament containing 17% chopped carbon fibers, delivering exceptional stiffness with a Young's modulus of 5481 MPa in the X-Y direction. This composite material exhibits superior heat deflection temperature of 147.5°C at 0.45 MPa and maintains dimensional stability with minimal shrinkage after printing and annealing. Its low moisture absorption (0.53% equilibrium) ensures consistent mechanical properties even in humid environments, unlike nylon-based carbon fiber materials that degrade when exposed to moisture.

Fiberon PET-CF17 excels in automotive, composite manufacturing, and jigs & fixtures applications where high stiffness and precision are required. It prints reliably on standard FDM printers with nozzle temperatures of 270-300°C and bed temperatures of 70-80°C, requiring no heated chamber or enclosure. Both professional engineers and advanced hobbyists can achieve high-speed printing up to 300mm/s while maintaining exceptional surface finish and dimensional accuracy for functional prototypes and end-use parts.

Users benefit from PET-CF17's exceptional stiffness, moisture insensitivity, and superior surface texture that requires minimal post-processing. The material offers excellent layer adhesion and low warping tendencies, making it more reliable than traditional carbon fiber composites. However, optimal performance requires hardened steel nozzles to handle the abrasive carbon fibers, and annealing at 120°C for 10 hours is strongly recommended to achieve maximum mechanical and thermal properties.
