PolyLite PLA Pro

PolyLite PLA Pro

Product description

Professional-grade PLA Pro filament delivers exceptional impact resistance and rigidity for functional prototyping and engineering applications. Features advanced Jam-Free technology preventing nozzle blockages while maintaining easy-to-print characteristics of standard PLA. Superior mechanical properties include tensile strength up to 68 MPa and impact resistance 13.44 KJ/m², making it ideal for durable parts requiring precision.

Key Features

  • Enhanced impact strength 50% higher than standard PLA with ABS-like durability

  • Jam-Free technology prevents nozzle clogs with 140°C heat resistance

  • Professional rigidity combines stiffness with toughness for functional parts

  • Easy printing at 190-220°C with excellent dimensional stability

  • Engineering-grade properties ideal for prototyping and end-use components

  • Superior layer adhesion creates smooth surface finish with reduced brittleness

  • Cost-effective alternative to ABS without heated chamber requirements

Material Properties & Composition

PolyLite PLA Pro is a modified polylactic acid filament engineered with proprietary impact-modified additives to deliver both high rigidity and high toughness while retaining PLA’s ease of printing. It has a density of 1.22 g/cm³ as measured by ISO 1183 and a melt index of 6 g/10 min (210 °C, 2.16 kg) that ensures consistent flow through standard hotends. The filament exhibits a glass transition temperature of 62 °C and a Vicat softening temperature of 62.7 °C, providing dimensional stability during printing and in service up to these thresholds.

Applications & Use Cases

This professional PLA excels in functional prototyping, jigs and fixtures, and end-use parts for consumer goods where a balance of strength and precision is paramount. It is fully compatible with most desktop FDM 3D printers - both Bowden and direct-drive setups - and benefits from Polymaker’s Jam-Free technology that minimizes heat creep and nozzle jams for reliable production. PolyLite PLA Pro’s low warpage, minimal odor, and broad color availability also make it ideal for educational settings, home workshops, and small-batch manufacturing.

Advantages & Considerations

Users gain from outstanding impact strength (13.44 kJ/m²) and flexural strength (68.08 MPa) that exceed those of standard PLA formulations, enabling durable, load-bearing parts straight off the printer. Recommended printing parameters - nozzle temperature 190–220 °C, bed temperature 30–60 °C, and cooling fan on - optimize layer adhesion, minimize stringing, and ensure a smooth surface finish without specialized equipment. Despite its enhanced mechanical performance, PLA Pro remains sensitive to prolonged heat exposure above its glass transition and can absorb moisture; drying at 55 °C for 6 h is advised if filament appears brittle or print quality degrades.
